A man has been charged after a laser was shone at a police plane deployed in a road rage inquiry.

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) fixed-winged plane was being flown over Telford on Tuesday to help find a suspect in connection with an incident on Mossey Green Way in Ketley Bank.

West Mercia Police was alerted to the laser and inquiries led the force to Old Office Road in Dawley. Reed Beers, 60, of Dawley in Telford, was arrested then charged with dazzling or distracting a pilot.

He has been released on police bail and is due to appear at Telford Magistrates' Court on 27 March.
