A 10-year-old boy is in a critical but stable condition after a two-car crash in Cambridgeshire.

Emergency services were called to the A141 Heath Road in Warboys at 08:45 BST on Monday following a crash between a grey Vauxhall Zafira and a red Renault Captur.

The boy, who was a passenger in the Vauxhall, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries. The driver, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the Renault, a man in his 20s, was interviewed at the scene and was helping police with inquiries, a Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson added.

"An investigation has been launched and officers are appealing for witnesses," the spokesperson said.
