Specialist police search teams have been combing a lake and woodland in South Yorkshire through the weekend and Monday.

The force said regional underwater search teams had been searching the lake and surrounding area of Wombwell Wood "as part of an ongoing investigation".

A number of police vehicles were parked at the scene, with officers using large sticks to move undergrowth as they searched the area.

Forestry England described the green space as "a birdwatchers' paradise" while the Woodland Trust said the woodland dated back to the Domesday Book in 1086 and was around 350 acres in size.
