Roads in Warter and Nunburnholme will have £550,000 spent on them, officials say

Motorists have been warned to expect some disruption as work begins on a £550,000 road improvement scheme in two East Yorkshire villages.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council said work to upgrade roads in Nunburnholme and Warter, near Pocklington, would begin on Monday.

It is expected to last about seven weeks and would involve structural patching, drainage improvements and resurfacing, the authority said.

Diversions would be in place during the construction phase, but residents would still have access to properties, a spokesperson added.

Work is being carried out in Nunburnholme Hill, Back Lane and Warter Road in Nunburnholme and in Mill Lane and Lairs Lane in Warter.

Councillor Paul West, cabinet member for environment and transport, said: "Thank you to residents and businesses in the area for their patience while we complete this essential work to improve these roads."
