Learning bus to tour and teach English and maths

A bus fitted with a classroom will tour East Yorkshire to deliver English and maths sessions

A bus with a fitted classroom will be touring towns in East Yorkshire to deliver preparatory maths and English courses.

The mobile learning centre, which has been set up by East Riding of Yorkshire Council (ERYC), has been designed to help prepare people who are seeking qualifications up to the equivalent of a GCSE.

The UK Shared Prosperity Fund has funded the project with a £170,000 investment.

Councillor Anne Handley, leader of ERYC, said: "We encourage interested residents to visit the learning centre if they can and sign up to the courses available."

Dates and locations of the mobile learning centre:

  • Hornsea Hub on 2, 23 and 30 March
  • Beverley on 9 March
  • Hornsea Mere on 11 March
  • Withernsea seafront on 18 March
  • Castle Hill Hospital on 19 March
  • Bridlington on 25 March
