Organisers say an "action-packed weekend of celebratory events" is being planned for July.

The work is due to start on 5 January and will involve road closures, Northern Gas Networks say.

The proposals included a green space, public art and improved pedestrian access, the council says.

The council plans to revamp the space at the junction of Skillings Lane with Welton Road in Brough.

People can donate food and household items, or help with food sorting, packing or distribution.
