A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman at a block of flats in Glasgow.

The body of Joanne Newlands, 41, was discovered in a property in Kirkton Avenue, Knightswood, on 17 March following reports of concern for a woman.

Police Scotland arrested a 49-year-old man the following day but he was released pending further inquiry.

A force spokesperson confirmed the suspect has now been charged in connection with the death and is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
