Unexploded bomb forces residents to evacuate
Sarah Gorrell/BBCResidents in a village were forced to evacuate after an unexploded bomb was found during excavation work, police have said.
Officers and an explosive ordnance disposal team attended the scene in Lewes Road in Ditchling, East Sussex, and safely removed the "unexploded chemical munitions" after it was found at about 15:30 on Tuesday.
At about 03:00 GMT on Wednesday, Sussex Police said the cordon had been lifted and residents were allowed to return to their homes.
Police said the incident was not terror-related.
