Man arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences

A man has been arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences during a police operation in Birmingham.

The 19-year-old was detained by counter-terrorism officers at an address in Bartley Green on Tuesday.

A second address was also searched as part of the pre-planned operation, West Midlands Police said.

The man was being held on suspicion of disseminating terrorism materials and possession of an article for terrorist purposes, a force spokesperson added. He remained in custody for questioning, they said.
