A man has been charged with murder after a fatal shooting.

Piotr Pruszak, 45, suffered a gunshot wound at a house in Conifer Road, in Coxford, Southampton, at about 20:00 GMT on Wednesday and was pronounced dead at the scene, said police.

Marcin Buryta, 31, from Southampton, has been charged with murder and possession of a prohibited weapon and is due to appear at the city's magistrates' court on Monday.

A 57-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman arrested on Sunday on suspicion of aiding and abetting aggravated burglary remain in custody, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed.

The victim's family was being supported by specialist officers, said the force.
