Police hunt man after gun fired at parked car

Police have started an investigation after a man shot an unoccupied parked car in York.

The incident happened on Starkey Crescent, in the Tang Hall area of the city, at around 21:25 GMT on Saturday.

Officers said the suspect, who has not yet been traced, approached the car on foot before shooting the vehicle and running from the scene.

No-one was injured and police said they believed it was a "targeted incident, with no threat to the wider community".

A cordon was subsequently put in place around the scene and any witnesses have been asked to come forward.
