Police called after pupil took ceremonial knife into school

Police were called in after a pupil brought a small ceremonial knife to a private school in Aberdeen.

The incident involving the skean-dhu happened on 26 November at Albyn School.

Police Scotland said there were no reports of any injuries and no-one was threatened. A report on the child will be submitted to the relevant authorities.

In a statement, Albyn said bringing any kind of blade or potentially dangerous item on to school grounds was strictly prohibited, and added that the pupil involved would not be returning to the school.
