Closure order on house after anti-social behaviour
GoogleOne person has been arrested after persistent anti-social behaviour led to restrictions being placed on a house in Derbyshire.
Legal action was taken by Chesterfield Borough Council in partnership with Derbyshire Constabulary after complaints were made about the property in Sterland Street, in the Brampton area.
Noise nuisance reports first arose in 2023, the council said, but concerns had since escalated to include drug‑related activity and disorder.
Chesterfield Magistrates' Court granted a three-month partial closure order on the property, which means nobody other than the tenant, council officers, emergency services or other specified services can attend the property.
Anyone breaching the order is liable to arrest and this has already been used to take one person into custody, officials said.
CCTV is being installed at the location and regular high-visibility patrols will be used to ensure the terms of the order are followed, according to the council.
Members of the public are also encouraged to continue reporting any breaches or concerns to Derbyshire Constabulary so appropriate action can be taken.
