Dwayne McIntosh hit several cars as he attempted to flee from police

Dashcam footage shows the moment a dangerous driver crashed into a number of cars while trying to evade police.

Thames Valley Police said officers attempted to stop Dwayne McIntosh on Cranbury Road, Reading in the early hours of 9 December before he drove off and struck vehicles parked in a residential street.

The video shows his silver Toyota going on to two wheels following a crash before he is eventually arrested.

The 41-year-old of Palmer Park Avenue, Reading was jailed for 16 months at the town's crown court, after admitting a number of driving offences.

The video released by Thames Valley Police shows officers pulling over a silver Toyota on Cranbury Road shortly after 01:00 GMT on 9 December.

The driver's door opens briefly before the car suddenly speeds away.

After what officers describe as a "temporary loss", the Toyota is seen facing the police car on a narrow street lined with parked vehicles.

The car appears to have already struck one vehicle. It then reverses down the road, hitting at least two more.

"It's reversing. It has hit loads of cars," an officer says.

Following the arrest, one officer radios there will be "significant - and I mean significant - damage to multiple vehicles" in the Kent Road area.

McIntosh indicated a guilty plea to a charge of dangerous driving and admitted failing to provide a specimen at the roadside, driving without an MoT and failing to stop after a collision.

He also received a 42-month driving ban.
