A man in his thirties has died after a two-vehicle crash in Somerset.

Avon and Somerset Police officers were called to the A371 in Dinder, between Shepton Mallet and Wells, at about 15:00 GMT on Wednesday after an Audi S3 and a VW Golf crashed.

The Golf left the road and ended up in a nearby field, with its driver later pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services. His next of kin has been informed, police said.

Two people from the Audi, who are also in their thirties, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed for several hours for investigation work but has since reopened.

Police want anyone with information about the crash to contact officers.
