Four arrests have been made after a teenager was injured in a Leicester park.

Leicestershire Police said a 17-year-old was taken to hospital on Tuesday after a report of males with "bladed weapons" in Western Park.

Two 17-year-old males were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released on bail while investigations continued.

The injured boy has since been discharged but overnight on Friday police carried out operations in two locations in a bid to make further arrests, including deploying armed police in Bath Lane.

Two men, aged 28 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of affray.

Both remain in police custody, added the force, while searches are being carried out in the Bath Lane area on Saturday as part of the investigation.
