Man charged with kidnap and firearm offence

An 18-year-old has been charged with kidnap and possession of a firearm.

Essex Police said it was called to Barn Mead, Harlow at 16:00 BST on Thursday after reports of a disturbance and the sound of a firearm being discharged.

Thomas Pasquariello, of Westmill Road in Ware, Hertfordshire, has been charged with kidnap, threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a private place, possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, and assault by beating.

He is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 2 September.

Officers have urged people to come forward if they have anymore information that could help with the force's inquiries.

PC Cameron Oliver said: "Our work to make this case as strong as possible is ongoing."
