Evelyn Haylock died days after a crash in Dane End, near Ware

A 13-year-old girl who died in hospital following a crash was "sassy and bubbly", her family has said.

Hertfordshire Police said Evelyn Haylock was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle that crashed into a field near Whitehill, Dane End, on Saturday.

She was taken to hospital along with two other passengers, a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl who suffered minor injuries, but she died on Wednesday.

"Her sassiness was infectious. She was bubbly and was loved by everyone that met her," her family said.

"She lit up any room she walked in to, and once you met her you'd never forget her.

"As a family, we are devastated at the loss of Evelyn. Our hearts are broken. Evelyn, we love you, we'll miss you, you'll be forever 13."

Police said Dwane Moody, 40, of Rowney Lane, Dane End, who was driving, had been charged in connection with the incident.
