The Financial & Wellbeing Support Service has supported hundreds of individuals and families across Surrey

A service offering financial and mental health support to individuals and families in Surrey has closed.

The Financial & Wellbeing Support Service (FWSS), run by Citizens Advice Epsom and Ewell (CAEE) and Citizens Advice Surrey Heath (CASH), had been funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years, but this has now ended.

The project, delivered in partnership with Mary Frances Trust and Catalyst Support, supported 187 clients in Epsom and Ewell.

CAEE says it will continue to provide financial advice to those in need, while mental health and wellbeing support remains available through other Mary Frances Trust services.

The FWSS was set up to help people manage financial problems with specialist emotional wellbeing support.

Vicki Phelan, FWSS adviser at CAEE said: "The overall purpose of FWSS was to help people in need."

She said: "From the feedback I received, I know in some instances I saved lives."

Mental health and wellbeing support is available through other Mary Frances Trust Services, including Community Connections and Wellbeing Advice and Information.
