Motorists have been warned of disruption as a road in the south of the Isle of Man closes for a month to allow for resurfacing works.

Orrisdale Road, near Ballasalla, will be closed between Castletown Road and Orrisdale Farm, from 19 January until 22 February, the Department of Infrastructure (DoI) said.

The road is se to reopen for two days, on 31 January and 1 February, as the stretch has been earmarked to be used as a diversion route while Manx Utilities completes overhead lines work on Main Road, in Ballasalla, the DoI said.

Some minor repairs on the western end of the road would also be carried out during month-long the closure period, the department said, if time allowed.

Arrangements had been put in place to provide access to homes within the closure, with letters sent to all properties in the affected area, it added.
