A woman died following a crash on Whitehall Lane in Rudford

A woman has died following a crash in Gloucestershire.

Emergency services were called to Whitehall Lane in Rudford, Forest of Dean, at 17:20 GMT on Tuesday following a report of a crash involving two vehicles.

Gloucestershire Police said one of the drivers, a woman in her 60s from Gloucester, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man in his 50s from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink and/or drugs.

He was later released under investigation in order to be treated at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for multiple fractures, police said.

Parts of the B4215 were closed overnight while investigations took place and have since reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
