Mitch Lane, otherwise known as @mealsbymitch, will jump from 13,000ft for charity

A Tiktoker is set to jump out of a plane to raise money for a homeless charity in his home city.

Mitch Lane, from Wolverhampton, became well known on the social media platform during the Covid-19 lockdown for sharing tips on how to feed a family for under £5.

Now, after becoming an ambassador for the Good Shepherd charity, the father-of-three plans to do a 13,000ft tandem skydive at Tiltstock Airfield in Whitchurch, Shropshire.

"It's going to be a huge challenge for me, I've never been keen on heights so I'll be definitely facing my fears with this one," he said.

Mitch has also supported the Central Community Shop which is run by the charity

Under the moniker @mealsbymitch, he created budget-friendly meals and went on to publish two cookbooks.

He added: "It's a massive honour to be part of this fantastic charity."

Tom Hayden, chief executive of Good Shepherd, said: "He's supported our work for some time, particularly through the Central Community Shop, where people can access subsided food and household essentials.

"We say that it starts with a meal at Good Shepherd. Food is often the first step in building trust and relationships that can support someone on their journey to recovery. Mitch's passion for cooking, combined with his platform, will help shine a real light on our work, and we're extremely thankful for his support."

He is set to do the challenge on 11 July.
