A £1m EuroMillions ticket bought in Birmingham remained unclaimed with just hours left for the winner to come forward, National Lottery officials said.

The winning EuroMillions Millionaire Maker ticket was purchased on 15 August 2025 and carried the code VLPL 28287. The ticket holder has until midnight on 11 February to claim the prize, after which the money would be lost.

The National Lottery urged players to check and double check old tickets, warning that time was running out for the owner of the life-changing win.

Andy Carter, senior winners' adviser at Allwyn, which operates the National Lottery, said he was keen to reunite the winner with the prize.

He urged anyone who was in or around Birmingham at the time of the draw to think back to whether they may have bought a ticket, even if they were only visiting the city for the day.

He encouraged players to search "wallets, drawers and coat pockets and to tell friends and family", saying the missing ticket holder might not even realise they had won.

The unclaimed ticket was one of six major National Lottery prizes still outstanding across Lotto and EuroMillions, with more than £13m yet to be claimed nationwide.

Under National Lottery rules, players have 180 days from the date of the draw to claim any prize. If no one comes forward before the deadline, the £1m prize, along with any interest generated, would be transferred to National Lottery funded projects across the UK.
