A14 remains closed both ways after man dies in crash
Traffic Cameras UKA man has died and another been arrested after a serious crash on the A14 involving a lorry and a car near the Orwell Bridge.
Emergency services were called at about 09:00 BST after an accident between junction 56 at the Wherstead interchange and junction 57 for Nacton.
The A14 remains closed westbound between junctions 57 and 56, as does the Orwell Bridge westbound. The eastbound carriageway is closed at junction 57.
Suffolk Police said the closures are expected to remain in place into the evening and diversions are in place.
The collision involved a lorry and a silver Ford S-Max on the westbound carriageway.
A police spokesperson said the driver of the car died at the scene and two passengers were taken to hospital for a check-up, but did not sustain serious injuries.
A 50-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and remains in police custody.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and asking drivers to review any dashcam footage they may have gathered at the time of the incident.
