A second person has died following a crash involving two vehicles.

Hertfordshire Police said the collision - between a silver Kia Picanto and a grey BMW 118i M sport car - took place on White Hill, Rickmansworth, near Mount Vernon Hospital, at about 15:00 GMT on Tuesday.

A passenger in the Kia, in her 90s, died at the scene, and her daughter, in her 60s, who was driving the car, was airlifted to hospital but died on Wednesday night.

The BMW driver, a 22-year-old man from Watford, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury, driving over the limit of a specified drug and possession of cannabis, has been released on bail.

Det Con Dale Morris, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire serious collision investigation unit, said: "This is a devastating loss of a mother and daughter, and my thoughts are with their loved ones at this incredibly difficult time."

The force appealed for anyone with information to come forward, including sharing dashcam footage.
