Island's bid to boost firefighters' 'talent pool'

Islanders are being encouraged to help "build a talent pool" of firefighters.

Jersey Fire and Rescue said applications for on-call and full-time firefighters had opened and it wanted people to "join our team and help keep Jersey safe".

The service said it was also recruiting for future opportunities including recruitment plans for on-call firefighters planned for May and full-time firefighters from January 2027.

It said joining the talent pool would give applicants the chance "to secure a role" within the next year.

Drop in sessions for those interested will take place on the following dates:

• Wednesday 14 January between 18:30 and 21:00 GMT
• Saturday 17 January between 11:00 and 15:00 GMT
• Saturday 23 January between 11:00 and 15:00 GMT - female session only
• Tuesday 27 January between 18:30 and 21:00 GMT - female session only

Applications will close on Saturday 31 January.
