Man, 80, in court after woman, 95, tied up
PA MediaAn 80-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the false imprisonment of a 95-year-old woman.
Officers were called to an address in Little Hulton, Salford, at 11:00 GMT on Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police said.
The force said it was believed a man asked her about bin collections before entering the woman's property on Belcroft Drive, tying her hands together and demanding cash and her purse.
The man was interrupted when another woman arrived at the house before the man fled, according to police.
On Friday, Edwin Morrison, of Manchester Road, Worsley, appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court where he was charged with two counts of false imprisonment, attempted robbery, intentional strangulation and common assault.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 6 March.
