Walkouts by Hull Trains' drivers have been happening since March 2025

Strike action by drivers at Hull Trains over the sacking of a colleague has ended.

Walkouts have been taking place since March 2025 after union Aslef claimed a driver had been unfairly sacked for raising a safety concern.

Both Hull Trains and ASLEF confirmed to the BBC that an agreement had been reached to bring the strike action to an end.

A spokesperson for the train company said: "We are pleased that our customers can continue to travel with confidence when booking with Hull Trains, following the positive outcome of our talks with Aslef."

In January 2025, Aslef said a train driver had been sacked after raising a safety concern about fatigue during a briefing by the rail operator.

Hull Trains has consistently denied the union's claim of unfair dismissal.

It said future disciplinary proceedings would "continue to be conducted strictly within the framework of the existing jointly agreed machinery and disciplinary process".

The company's spokesperson added: "The safety of our customers and colleagues has and always will continue to be our number one priority."
