Boy, 13, seriously injured after being hit by car

A boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car while crossing a road on a scooter.

Humberside Police said the collision, involving a white Seat Ibiza, took place on Fairmont Road in Grimsby at about 18:00 GMT on Tuesday.

The 13-year-old, who was riding a "self-propelled" scooter, was taken to hospital with injuries thought to be life threatening, the force said.

Police officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact them.
