For £60K you get a cabin within 'unspoilt beauty' - but no bathroom
Sage & Co AuctionsAs Hollander said to Rozanov: "I think you're going to like the cottage... it's relaxing."
While this is not quite a picturesque lakefront Canadian property like the one in hit TV show Heated Rivalry, it's more a remote log cabin in north Wales that has no bedroom, bathroom or electricity.
But it could be yours for £59,000.
The plot, described as an "escape to serenity" in Llangollen, Denbighshire, is being sold in what has been called a "rare opportunity".
Located on a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), the cabin is surrounded by woodland and is just a short distance from the River Dee. It is accessed via a private forest track.
Adrian Ozimek/Trevor McIvor Architect IncThe cabin was granted permission for development in 2006 and is approximately 2.25 acres.
Sage and Co Auctions' auction director Ryan Saunders said: "It is unusual to get permission to build such a cabin, so this is a rare opportunity."
This has been a "highlight listing" for the auction house, added Saunders.
The listing details how "the charming structure" surrounded by "nature's unspoilt beauty" provides essential shelter and a private retreat.
"It is perfect for nature lovers," the listing adds.
Sabrina Lantos/HBO MaxDue to the "highly unusual" plot's planning permission, the site allows for overnight stays which is "a rare privilege in protected SSSI woodlands" but has no bedroom or bathroom.
There is no electricity provided inside the cabin but portable gas cylinders can be used to provide warmth and battery operated lantern for light.
Sage & Co AuctionsDespite "getting inquiries almost daily from all over the UK", the plot remains unsold after the auction closed on 11 February.
The guide price for the lot was £59,000 despite the timber built cabin previously selling for £295,000 in 2013.
