Man dies in flat fire
Devon and Somerset Fire and RescueA man has died following a fire in a flat, police have confirmed.
Emergency services were called to an address in Fairfield Court, Wincanton, Somerset, at 02:29 GMT on Tuesday.
Three fire engines were initially deployed, followed by a fourth after crews arrived to find flames coming from the building.
A spokeswoman from Avon and Somerset Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and formal identification was yet to take place.
"The family of a man have been informed and our thoughts are with them," she said.
"We are working alongside fire service investigators as part of their work to identify the cause of the fire," she added.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said the flat sustained 100% damage, with a further three flats sustaining water and smoke damage.
