A man has been charged with raping a 17-year-old boy in East Sussex.

Police said the incident reportedly occurred at around midnight on 30 January at an address in St Leonards.

Officers said an investigation was launched and a man was arrested on 2 February.

Glen Hodgins, 38, of Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, was charged with the rape and attempted rape of a male aged 16 or over.

He has been remanded in custody.

"We have been working tirelessly to identify a suspect, arrest them, and collate evidence to support our investigation and the court proceedings," said Det Insp Carol Shoesmith.

"We understand the strength it takes for victims to come forward to report such offences."

The victim is receiving specialist support, according to Sussex Police.
