Hospital appeals for £3m to transform entrance
BDPBirmingham Children's Hospital charity has appealed for £3m to transform its front entrance.
The campaign, named It Starts Here, hopes to turn the entrance into a "welcoming, child-friendly" space to help reduce patients' fear and anxiety.
Last updated nearly three decades ago, the hospital described the current entry point as a "cramped and dull" space that does not "reflect the world-class care that takes place beyond it".
New designs for the entrance are being developed with patients, families and staff at the hospital to help put children at ease.
The charity appeal aims to "overhaul the entire first impression" of the hospital and provide a space that "reflects the needs of everyone who uses it".
