Man hit and killed while standing next to vehicle

Norfolk Police was called to the A11 Norwich Road in Besthorpe on Sunday at about 12:48 BST

A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a man was hit and killed while standing next to a vehicle.

Norfolk Police was called to the northbound A11 near Attleborough where a black Ford Puma ST collided with a man standing "outside of a vehicle" at about 12:48 BST on Sunday.

The victim, aged in his 30s, died at the scene at Besthorpe.

The driver of the Ford, a man in his late teens, was arrested, questioned and released on police bail until 5 December.

Emergency services, including ambulance and air ambulance, were sent to the A11 which was was closed and did not reopen until about 22:00.

The force appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or had relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
