Police launch appeal after man attacked in street
Getty ImagesPolice are appealing for witnesses after a man was left "shaken" following an unprovoked attack.
A 69-year-old man was in Stein Road, Southbourne, near Chichester, when he was approached from behind between 17:30 GMT and 18:00 on 7 March, Sussex Police said.
After assaulting the man, the suspect shouted abuse at a family with a young child. Officers want to speak with the family.
The suspect is said to have fled the area via an alleyway behind the north platform of Southbourne railway station.
Police said the victim was shaken but did not require hospital treatment.
Anybody who saw the suspect, who is described as a white man, roughly 5ft 9in tall, with light facial hair and was wearing a baseball cap and carrying a dark rucksack, is urged to contact the force.
