Teenage son admits killing his mother, court told
North Wales PoliceA teenager has admitted murdering his mother, whose body was found on a footpath.
Angela Shellis, 45, from Prestatyn, Denbighshire, was found dead near the town's Morfa nature reserve on 24 October.
Her 18-year-old son, Tristan Roberts, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Thursday, and admitted her murder.
No details of the case were given and Judge Rhys Rowlands adjourned for sentencing on 25 March.
Rowlands told Roberts: "There can only be one sentence", but said the sentence would reflect his guilty plea.
Tristan Thomas Roberts - who lived with his mother - was arrested the same day her body was found and was charged with murder.
A trial had been set for March.
An inquest into Ms Shellis's death heard the provisional cause of her death was a blunt force head injury.
Ms Shellis, who was born in Tywyn, was a teaching assistant at Rhyl High School.
Following her death, her family said in a statement she was a "loved daughter, sister, mum and aunty and will be sadly missed".
