Suspect, 68, charged in Dover murder investigation

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Dover have charged a 68-year-old man with murder.

Kent Police said it was called just after 09:00 GMT on Thursday following reports of an assault at a property in Rose Gardens, Eythorne.

Officers attended along with paramedics and a man in his 20s was confirmed deceased. His next of kin has been informed.

Stephen Boyd Rooke, of Rose Gardens, Eythorne, was charged with murder on Friday and is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court later.

Kent Police is continuing to appeal for any witnesses and has urged residents to check private CCTV or dashcams for relevant footage.
