Drugs and disorder at flats leads to police action
Getty ImagesA closure order has been put in place by police at a block of flats after residents reported drug offences, anti-social behaviour and buzzers repeatedly being pressed to gain entry.
Until 10 November, anyone entering the flats on Byfield Road in Northampton "without reasonable excuse may be committing a criminal offence and could be arrested", said Northamptonshire Police.
Sgt Grace Manwaring said the behaviour was having "a significant impact on residents and the wider community".
"Closure orders are only sought when all other avenues have been explored," she added.
Police said they worked with Northamptonshire Partnership Homes to gather evidence and pursue enforcement action.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Partnership Homes said: "We encourage anyone experiencing anti-social behaviour to report it, as working together with residents is key to helping us keep our neighbourhoods safe."
