Man jailed after £100,000 heroin raid

A man has been jailed for four years after police found heroin with a street value of almost £100,000 at his home in Shropshire.

When detectives raided the property in Ludlow in June they also found £2,800 worth of cocaine, £2,700 in cash, two axes and mobile phones linked to drugs supply, West Mercia Police said.

Ryan Preece, 42, of Rocks Green Crescent, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and heroin, acquiring criminal property and possessing cocaine with intent to supply.

Caroline Bradley, 47, who lived at the same address, admitted permitting the use of her premises for the supply of cocaine and was given a one week sentence, but due to time served on remand was released

The pair were sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court on 12 December, the force added in a statement.

West Mercia Police said two blocks of heroin, with a combined weight of 998g and an estimated street value of £99,800 hidden inside a designer handbag.
