Men arrested over air gun and pub assaults claims

Two men have been arrested after allegedly attacking and injuring people in a Hull pub and carrying an air gun.

They entered a bar in Marfleet Lane at about 19:00 GMT on Thursday and got involved in a row with bar staff before allegedly pulling out the weapon, Humberside Police said.

The men left the pub damaging a glass door on the way out and got into a second altercation with a member of the public, the force added.

A 60-year-old man sustained serious injuries to his ribs and a 68-year-old man had a finger injured during the incidents. Both were taken to hospital.

Det Insp Ben Harmer said: "I understand reports of this nature are concerning for the local community, however I would like to offer my reassurance that upon immediate deployment, officers located two men and recovered what is believed to be a BB gun.

"Two 19-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without certificate, causing grievous bodily harm, attempt robbery and criminal damage."

He said the men remain in police custody and appealed for any information about the incidents.
