Driver dies in car crash on rural road

A driver has died after his car left the road and ended up in a Devon field during a crash.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it received reports of a single vehicle crash on an unnamed road near Gages Farm between Buckfastleigh and Ashburton at about 15:45 GMT on Tuesday.

The force said a green Subaru Legacy Outback was found in a field next to the road and the driver, a man believed to be local and aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone who saw the Subaru in the area before the crash or has relevant dashcam footage has been asked to contact police.
