Ex-detective charged with sexual assault and theft

PA MediaA former West Yorkshire Police officer has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and a series of other offences.
Patrick Banks, 42, who worked as a detective constable in Leeds, also faces one charge of theft and two of misconduct in public office.
West Yorkshire Police said the charges relate to alleged offences said to have taken place while both on and off duty.
Mr Banks, who was suspended from duty in May 2025 and subsequently left the force, is due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
