A man has pleaded guilty to driving offences after a lorry overturned on a major road.

Michael Maddick, 44, from Portmead, Swansea, pleaded guilty to driving with a specified controlled drug above the specified limit at Swindon Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

He was reportedly stuck inside his lorry when the vehicle overturned on the A350 in Chippenham, Wiltshire, shortly before 02:00 BST on 17 October.

Maddick was remanded on unconditional bail until sentencing at the same court on 9 April.

The A350 was closed for hours after the crash to allow emergency services to complete a "complex" recovery of the lorry.

There was also severe travel disruption on the M4 as a result of the incident.
