Firefighters put out blaze at water treatment works
BBCAbout 45 firefighters have put out an overnight fire at a water treatment works in County Antrim.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it started on the roof of an NI Water treatment facility on the Roselick Road at Portrush at 02:21 GMT on Tuesday morning.
Firefighters used fire-fighting jets and an aerial appliance to tackle the flames, supported by nine pumping appliances and a command support unit.
There were no reports of any injuries and the fire is believed to have started accidentally, the NIFRS has said.
Facility remains operational
In a statement, NI Water said the plant was continuing to operate following the fire.
"The facility is operational, with main treatment processes currently unaffected," a spokesperson said.
"NI Water continues to work closely with NIFRS as investigations progress and has also notified the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (NIEA)."
