Investigation after man dies following lorry fire

An investigation is under way after a 54-year-old man died following a lorry fire in Hucknall.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene in Watnall Road just after 23:00 BST on Saturday.

Nottinghamshire Police said the man was taken to hospital, but died the following day.

A force statement added the death "is not currently being treated as suspicious" and a file was being prepared for a coroner.

Crews from Arnold, Eastwood, Hucknall and Stockhill were sent to deal with the fire.

Dan Palmer, group manager for the fire service, added: "I would like to send my sincere condolences to the gentleman's family and friends."
