Flood alerts in place after Storm Goretti
Getty ImagesFlood alerts are in place across Shropshire following heavy rainfall and several inches of snow from Storm Goretti.
Flooding is possible near the River Severn in Shrewsbury, as well as in Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge and Bridgnorth, with levels expecting to peak between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
An alert is also in place for the Severn Vyrnwy confluence from the Welsh border at Llawnt to Shrawardine, near Shrewsbury, including Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley. Peaks are expected on Monday.
There could be further flooding in the Rea Brook and Cound Brook and Tern and Perry catchments on Monday, affecting areas between Shrewsbury and Church Stretton, and Market Drayton and Wem.
The Upper Teme, River Onny and River Corve could also see flooding on Monday.
Areas that could be affected include Bishop's Castle, Church Stretton, Knighton and Ludlow.
People are being asked to avoid using low-lying footpaths and bridges near local watercourses, and have been warned not to drive through flood water.
