A man has been charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in a West Yorkshire village.

Mason Jones was found stabbed at the junction of Main Street and Iron Row in Burley in Wharfedale just before 10:00 GMT on Sunday.

John Robinson, 30, of Derry Hill, Menston, has been charged with his murder and is due to appear before Bradford Magistrates' Court later, West Yorkshire Police said.

In a tribute issued by the force, Mason's family said: "To have our boy taken from us in such a heartbreaking way is something no family or partner should ever have to face."

They added: "He has been taken from us far too soon, and from his beautiful children.

"Mason's infectious smile and joyful spirit will live on in our hearts and in the precious memories we hold on to.

"His partner, family and friends are still trying to come to terms with this unimaginable loss."

Police said a 23-year-old woman who was also arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed pending further inquiries.
