Food waste collections begin in Lincolnshire
BBCHousehold food waste collections have begun in parts of Lincolnshire.
The weekly caddie collections have got under way in Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey.
The waste will be used to create energy and fertiliser.
People are being asked to use liners in their caddies, and to put them out on their usual weekly collection days alongside their general waste bins.
Rachel Stamp, from Lincolnshire County Council, said: "We all live on this planet, we've all go to be accountable for it, so if everyone does this little thing to play their part, these little things make big things."
In South Kesteven, food waste collections will begin in the week of 13 April.
In the Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland council areas, caddy deliveries and collections are scheduled to start in the autumn.
In February, it was reported that a quarter of councils in England were set to miss the deadline for rolling out food waste collections, with many citing financial pressures for the delays.
