A family has paid tribute to a man who was fatally shot in a house.

Piotr Pruszak, 45, suffered a gunshot wound in Conifer Road, in Coxford, Southampton, at about 20:00 GMT on Wednesday and was pronounced dead at the scene, said police.

Marcin Buryta, 31, from Southampton, has been charged with murder and possession of a prohibited weapon and is due to appear at the city's magistrates' court on Monday.

In a statement Pruszak's family said: "With deep sadness we are saying our last goodbye to beloved son and brother Piotr. You will live forever in our memories and in the love we share."

Pruszak was pronounced dead at the scene

Pruszak was a Polish national living in Southampton, and his family are being supported by specialist officers, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said.

A 57-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman arrested on Sunday on suspicion of aiding and abetting aggravated burglary remain in custody.
