Merged colleges unveil new name
Maurice D Budden / GeographA new name has been unveiled for two Dorset colleges that merged last year.
Kingston Maurward, which focuses on land-based studies, merged with Weymouth further education college in August 2024.
From Monday, the united organisation will be known as Coastland College.
The college will continue to operate over two campuses - at Kingston Maurward estate, near Dorchester, and Cranford Avenue in Weymouth.
Coastland CollegePrincipal and CEO Kate Wills said: "Today we start a new chapter under one bold, flexible and unmistakable new name and identity, stronger and more ambitious than ever."
The new brand identity was debuted at Dorset County Show, which took place on Saturday and Sunday.
The organisation's governing body and legal entity will remain Weymouth and Kingston Maurward College.
Kingston Maurward College was established in 1949 and lies within the 750-acre estate of the Kingston Maurward House - an 18th-century country mansion.
